Medical Illustrations
We were recently contacted by an organization to see if we would consider creating anatomical drawings. This is a new process for us, but we began working with anatomists to create approximately 100 drawings. It is an incredibly challenging and exciting process.

As a result of this project, and our appointment as the Joyce Cutler-Shaw Artists in Residence at UCSD School of Medicine, we were contacted by a CBS News reporter who was doing a story about anatomical artists who were making more inclusive drawings. When we first started researching anatomical drawings and looked through the printed anatomy books and online sources, we were struck by the lack of representation of people of color. For this reason, whenever flesh is visible in our drawings, we usually choose to make the figures other than white.
